Faith Formation
AT KAMLOOPS CHRISTIAN SCHOOL
KCS’s K–12 Biblical Studies program invites students into a lifelong journey of knowing God, understanding His Word, and living out their faith as part of God’s unfolding story. Grounded in Biblical truth and shaped by the Teaching for Transformation (TfT) framework, our faith formation practices integrate daily devotions, weekly chapel, and intentional Bible study to nurture both spiritual habits and biblical literacy. From joyful worship and foundational Bible stories in the early grades to apologetics, Christian worldview, and mission-focused discipleship in high school, students are encouraged to grow in wisdom, love, and purpose. Through every stage, they are equipped to see the world through the lens of Scripture, respond to God's call, and live as faithful participants in His redemptive plan.

KCS welcomes all families and students who want to be part of our community to grow closer in their relationship with Jesus. We invite students to grow in their faith through becoming deeply rooted in Christ, developing a Christian worldview, and living out their faith through service and choosing a life of holiness.
Deeply Rooted in Christ: We read and study God’s Word throughout the week in Biblical Studies at all grade levels. The curriculum for each grade level is designed so that students learn about God’s Story as a whole (the gospel story of creation, sin, redemption, and restoration) and can dive deeper into sections of the Bible throughout each grade level. High School Bible courses include topics such as theology, apologetics, ethics, and global service/missions.
Christian Worldview: We practice integrating faith into all subject areas through a framework called “Teaching for Transformation”. Students learn with curiosity, grow in their character, and build their courage through understanding how they are part of God’s story, how they can reflect God’s character, and how they can act to serve others and God.
Faith in Action: We practice being followers of Jesus through spiritual disciplines such as prayer, reading and memorizing the Bible, worshiping together, being hospitable, serving others with generosity (through giving time, talents, or tithes), sharing fellowship, and celebrating through practicing gratitude. Living out our faith takes place in the classroom, in the hallways, on the field, in the gym, and in the woodshop/metalshop.
teaching for transformation
Teaching for Transformation is a framework that supports integrating faith into all aspects of learning and school life. The framework includes:
-
Articulation of our deep hope, inviting students into knowing Jesus and experiencing God’s love as they learn and live in community together
-
Invitation into a storyline that shapes and provides a foundation for why students learn; storylines are a vision of God’s Kingdom that connects the learner and the learning with God’s Story
-
Practice of throughlines that help students to form discipleship habits that will transform their lives and God’s world
-
Opportunities for formational learning experiences that give students practice in living out their faith by doing real work that meets the real needs of real people
