The KCS Parent Action Committee (PAC) meets monthly usually on Tuesday mornings.
All are welcome!
Welcome to Kamloops Christian School
What is the KCS PAC?
It's an active group that represents all the parents and guardians for registered children. Our main role is to support the school community and its programs. The KCS PAC works to raise funds for the enhancement of our school and to encourage involvement in fun events. The funds raised by PAC allow us to provide materials and opportunities to help our students and teachers and ease the cost to our families.
It's not just about raising money, it also creates a community within the school. A few events throughout the year that we help sponsor include: the Welcome Back to School BBQ for all families, the Staff Appreciation Luncheon, Homecoming, and the Spring Raffle. PAC was also the key fundraiser for all the new school lockers in both the Middle and High schools. Some fundraisers include plant sales, cookie/muffin sales, poinsettia sales, Purdy's, Colombo Lodge meals
Who is part of KCS PAC?
All parents and guardians of students are voting members of PAC. Since you are a voting member, you can attend our monthly meetings. We highly encourage your attendance! There are a few parent volunteers that make up the KCSPAC executive: These are the Chair, Vice Chair, Treasurer, and Secretary. Our CEO Sandro Cuzzetto also attends the PAC meeting in order to best support their initiatives and collaborate and communicate marketing initiatives. They all have 2 year terms.
What is a PAC meeting like?
PAC meets for one hour at 8:30am on the first Tuesday of the month in the Learning Commons. Meetings are only from Sept to June or while school is in session. This meeting provides updates regarding upcoming organized events and how we are spending our approximately annual budget. We also brainstorm to increase our current fundraising initiatives and/or try new fundraisers. At this meeting everyone has a voice and a vote regarding spend and initiatives. Current initiatives include providing money to student scholarships, extracurricular activities like intramural sports, clubs, year end trips, music, extra supplies for the teacher's rooms, lockers, and so much more! In the past we have taken on capital projects such as raising the funds for our beautiful new playground.
Are you interested in attending a meeting or finding out more?
We encourage everyone to attend a meeting to better understand what we do. You can also find out more about PAC and when the meetings are here on this website. Our monthly minutes are posted here. Finally, the executives are also available to answer any questions through email at firstname.lastname@example.org or in person if we see you at the school or an event.
Feel free to ask us any questions.
Sincerely the current Chair and Vice Chair
