Development Fund Priorities (2026-27)

1. West Flex (multi-purpose space) improvements ($25,000): The West Flex multi-purpose room will be improved with the installation of acoustic panels to improve sound and MDF panels to protect the walls. This multi-purpose room is used by Elementary students for weekly chapels as well as by daycare children and Middle School students for activity breaks. We also use this space for community events such as our annual Grandparents' Tea. Adding acoustic panels in this space will make it possible for our students and guests to be able to hear speakers much better.

2. iPad cart replacement ($20,000): Student learning in our primary grades (Grades 1-3) will be enhanced by purchasing a class set of iPads. iPads are used by the students to independently practice reading skills and numeracy skills through selected educational apps.

3. Playground accessibility project (initial step: $70,000): Student access to the playground will be improved over the next few years through the addition of inclusive playground equipment and a rubberized surface in part of the playground. Before adding inclusive playground equipment, KCS needs to improve our playground surface by removing the pea gravel and replacing it with wood-engineered chips.

Did you know??
• As a fully accredited Group 1 faith-based independent school, KCS receives 50% of the BC government student funding
provided to public schools. This government grant, combined with tuition, is used for our operational expenses. However, unlike public schools who receive capital grants as well, KCS must raise additional funds through donations to cover expenses related to owning and maintaining our building, vehicles, technology, and equipment.

• KCS is a registered Canadian charitable organization, so your gifts are tax deductible.
Charitable donation receipts are provided in February for any donations from the previous calendar year.

Our deep hope for the flourishing of KCS is to meet our financial goals and responsibilities by connecting with our community in meaningful, hospitable and courageous ways as we practice gratitude and develop lasting partnerships for generations to come.
Designated Gifts Policy: Spending of funds is confined to programs and projects approved by Kamloops Christian School (KCS). Should a donor designate a contribution, we will honour the designation with the understanding that when the need for such a program or project has been met or cannot be completed for any reason, the remaining designated gifts will be used where most needed, as determined through collaboration between administration and the board.
