At KCS, our athletics program is vibrant and active at both the elementary and high school levels, with a focus of teaching students to learn lifelong habits of exercise and cooperation. It is through these experiences that students build character and learn the importantance of teamwork.
TRACK AND FIELD
King of the Court
One of the highlights of the Intermediate School is KING OF THE COURT! This is Friday after school soccer scrimmage for boys and girls in Grades 4-7. Whoever shows up, get divided into teams by coaches, and then play soccer! We have a regular scorekeeper/ timekeeper. Everyone gets a turn to play. Always a fun time!
Join now and remember to ask about KOTC tshirts today!
KCS strives to allow students to showcase their God-given abilites in all ways, including music. This is why we have a band and music program that starts in Kindergarten and goes up through all the grades. Our students are coached and given ample opportunity to share their musical talents in various ways. Rod Simmons teaches music, while Teri Fichtner coordinates our weekly chapel.
God blessed my hands to help me paint
And with these hands, I will create
I am made to dance with my feet
And say words of poetry once I speak
I am an artist in my heart
And these talents will never part
So much encouragement you decided to sow
The seeds of artistry that within me grow!
Tracy Petrie is our Art teacher and the walls of KCS are graced with talents of all our school. In the spring you are welcome to a Fine Arts evening where the visual art talents are showcased with pride.
Each spring, directed by our talented Music Maestro, Rod Simmons... the high school performing arts group entertains everyone with a famous musical. In 2015 it was The Sound of Music, and 2016 was Godspell. These students work so hard, and you will be impressed with the talent!
"One of the most fun and uplifting musicals I have seen in a long time."
Gerri Ann Hall
"Was an amazing performance! I was so proud of everyone in the play!"
